A jewel rooted in the Middle Ages (1400-1500), the Church of the Immaculate in Roseto Capo Spulico enchants visitors. On the facade the remains of an ancient sarcophagus depicting a bishop can be seen. According to D’Ippolito (1932), the sarcophagus dates back to the 13th century. Inside the chapel, canvases of the Neapolitan school were found and restored, now exhibited in the Mother Church of San Nicola di Bari. A splendid statue of the Immaculate Conception in solid wood remains in the Church of the Immaculate. During the restorations, frescoes depicting scenes from the lives of saints and a crucifixion emerged.
